Nations are formed by humans, and Nigeria, created in 1914, was not originally built by Nigerians. To achieve a new Nigeria, we must cultivate the vision and creativity needed to recreate it ourselves.
Nigeria was recreated in 1960 largely by people that were educated in the country of the colonizers. Then we inherited a new set of colonizers, because of our structure and culture of leadership.
What Nigeria—and Africa—needs now are creators and visionaries. As Christians, we are co-creators with God, and it’s those with a dominion mindset, not a victim mentality, who will lead the true transformation.
Unleashing Creative Power:
- Give value to ideas, thoughts and imagination: Every valuable creation begins as an idea. The real battle is in our minds. Embrace your identity as a creator in Christ.
- Tap into your God-given talent/gifts: Each of us has talents from God. Discover, develop, and use them to serve both community and nation.
- Network with as many other Creators as possible: No one creates alone. We need each other to bring true value to our work.
- Invest in the Youth: Building a nation starts with investing in the younger generation.
- Never give up until the vision becomes reality: Creation takes time, effort, and persistence. Never give up.
As we celebrate Nigeria today, let’s recognize our potential to recreate it. Our imagination is key to overcoming limitations, and with God, we are empowered to build a new nation.
