Building your faith to blossom. God is saying to us that we should be deliberate about our faith, but how do we go about that. (Hebrews 4:1-2 NKJV)
Here are some tips on how to deliberately build your faith:
1. Surround yourself with that which produces faith: Faith is your personal conviction that you get from the spoken word, written word or the living word. Surround yourself with materials that will build and not destroy your faith. You cannot surround yourself with people who always see negativity and expect your life to be positive. It is a matter of choice, do good things that create joy in you. For us to develop our faith we need to be deliberate to listen to things that will nurture our faith. Take charge of your life and create opportunities to be joyful.
3. Build on the word of God and not experience: So many of us only live by the experience of others and not the word of God. Go for the spoken word, what is God saying to you? Let Him have the final say in your life. God wants to say something to you but you must be ready to hear Him.
4. Look to the word of God and not someone’s personality: Hold on to the word of God, many people subject their lives to the men of God and leave the word. If the only time you feel blessed is when a man of God prays over you them that is a recipe for trouble. A lot of us focus on the man of God and not on the God of man. Forget about the charisma and personality of the person, it is the word that brings healing.
5. Be humble and courteous: don’t talk to people anyhow, treat other people the way you want to be treated no matter what their position or situation is in life.
