Daystar trains 851 people for entrepreneurship

Apart of commitment to the spiritual welfare of her teeming young members, Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos last Friday concluded the 2nd batch of training for the year 2019 for members and non-members in different skills.

 Daystar Skills Acquisitions Program, (DSAP) a corporate social responsibility of the church, which runs quarterly at Plot A3C Ikosi Road, Oregun, Lagos, Nigeria. It affords the church to give back to the society through training people in various skills which the church believes is the way to go as a Nation.

According to the registrar, Pastor Paul Nwolisa, Daystar Skills Acquisition Program, (DSAP) is free and beneficiaries were required to have little education for them to grasp what the program entails.  In his word, this is the 27h edition of the program and it has successfully run for a decade now.

He stressed that Daystar Christian Centre believes money is tied to values offering. “You need to offer values in terms of your skills to earn money. Money is tied to your skills which accounts for why we train these people in various skills for them to earn money outside” Paul Nwolisa said.

Speaking on behalf of the senior pastors, Sam & Nike Adeyemi, the Church Chief Operating Officer, Pastor Kenny Folarin said “the church is simply in this to contribute her quota to the lifting people out of poverty. Most of those who came for this training are not even members of the church. But we are happy as they leave here today with one skill or the other for them to better their lives”.

“DSAP has taught me that nothing is impossible. I am most grateful because I can now exchange value with the graphics skills I have learnt for free within these two weeks. I pray God bless Daystar richly” Ajayi Olaoluwa one of the excited participants, said while sharing on his experience.

Another graduate, Mrs Latifat Ashade, said “though I am a Muslim by religion. But what this church has done with this training in my life is immense. I lost my job two years ago. But with the help of Daystar, I have learnt cake making for free. I pray Allah bless the leadership of this church. I am grateful”

Over the past years, the Daystar Skill Acquisition Program (DSAP) has played a pivotal role in raising a unique breed of young entrepreneurs who would do business with a difference; while earning legitimate money.
