Who is your King?

In a world where power, influence, and personal ambition often take centre stage, one question demands an answer: Who is your king?

Who rules your decisions, your heart, and your future? As believers, the answer should be simple, God First. Yet, too often, we let distractions, worries, and worldly pursuits take the throne of our lives.

Jesus made it clear in Matthew 6:33:“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

When God reigns supreme, everything else falls into place. We are not just citizens of a country; we are citizens of a higher kingdom, one that operates by faith, love, and supernatural authority.

But here’s the challenge: Many of us claim Jesus as King on Sundays but let fear, world culture, or personal desires rule from Monday to Saturday. The way you talk, act, and think should reflect the fact that your King is not of this world.

1. God First in Decisions

How often do we make choices and then ask God to bless them, instead of seeking His guidance first? A God First mindset means consulting Him before making a move.

2. God First in Identity

Our identity is not rooted in nationality, career, or status—it is found in Christ alone. Before you are a professional, a spouse, or a leader, you are a kingdom citizen. That means your values, your responses, and your lifestyle should reflect God’s rule in your life.

3. God First in Influence

Jesus called us the salt and light of the earth (Matthew 5:13-14). Salt preserves, flavours, and prevents decay. Light drives out darkness. We are not called to be salt and light of our world.

4. God First in Power

The power to live a victorious life comes through the Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples to wait for power before stepping out in ministry (Acts 1:8). The same applies to us today. A kingdom life without the power of the Holy Spirit is just religion.

5. God First in Your Purpose

Many people hesitate to step into their God-given calling because they think they aren’t ready. But here’s the truth: You don’t need to be perfect, just positioned.

Today, let your life declare: GOD FIRST!
