The ultimate resurrection. What happens when we die? What is a reliable source of information about what happens when we die?
As Christians we handle the subject of death better than most non-religious people because we are not afraid of death. The Bible lets us know that there is a reason why Jesus came down to earth and confronted death, and destroyed Satan’s control over death.
Reasons why we aren’t afraid of death.
- For us Christians, Satan is no longer in control of the process of death, Christ is, and therefore we have nothing to be afraid of. (Revelations 1:17-18)
- Christ has paid the price for us: Not only did He defeat Satan, but Christ also credited His death to your account, so when Christ died, we died, and when He resurrected, we resurrected. (Colossians 2:12-14 MSG) Christ commanded us not to be afraid of physical death.
- We are not bound to earth: Be fearless because you are not your body, you are a spirit that has a soul that is using an earth suit (body) while you are here on earth. Where our spirit and souls go is eternal bliss. When our earth suit expires, it doesn’t mean that we expire, we continue to live because we believe in life after death. (Matthew 10:28 NLT)
- We have the Holy Spirit: the spirit of God never leaves you the same, He influences you. When the Holy Spirit is there, fear cannot be there because He helps you to see the way God sees.
