The Power to Witness. While at the well, Jesus took the opportunity He had to share the good news with the Samaritan woman, and then she went into the city and shared her story with other people (Acts 1:8 AMPC, John 4, John 4:39 MSG.)
In John 9:26-27, the blind man told the Pharisees what his experience with Christ had been. This is what witnessing is all about, just share your simple story, that is all God expects us to do. You don’t need to be able to quote the entire Bible to witness just share your experience of Christ with someone. There are two parts to witnessing; the message and the messenger. You are the message (1 Thessalonians 7:7-10, 2 Corinthians 2:2-3) Your life is not just your own, you are the representation of God. You are an ambassador, you are the one that will reflect how the kingdom of God should look like. What can people say about you when they come in contact with you? Winning souls will make heaven rejoice and loosing souls will not make heaven happy. (2 Peter 3:9 TPT)
Some reasons why people don’t believe the Gospel:
- People don’t believe the gospel any longer because the god if this age has taken over, the god that makes people believe that they can just do anything they want because they feel like it.(2 Corinthians 4:3-4 TPT)
- Your life doesn’t preach the gospel: You are not the message. People might know you as a believer but your life does not reflect the word of God. Collosians 4:5-6TPT. We need to use any medium and every opportunity to share your story.
- You are not sharing your story, you are too busy to be used to witness. Don’t be the reason why someone misses salvation.
Your simple word backed by the power of the Holy Spirit is what gives birth to salvation. The Holy Spirit works in you to make you the message and works on you to make you the messenger. You need to live your life so that the world will see and say “this is a child of God”.
