Business by Divine Strategy

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the thought of starting a business, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve thought, “I don’t have enough money,” “I don’t even know where to begin,” or “Business just isn’t my thing.”

But what if you were told that business isn’t just about money or fancy plans? Or that your next breakthrough idea could come not from a boardroom but from your prayer closet?

In 2 Kings 4:7, a desperate widow approached the prophet Elisha. Her husband was gone, creditors were knocking, and her sons were about to be taken as slaves. She had nothing… or so she thought.

The prophet asked her a simple question: “What do you have in your house?” She replied, “Just a small jar of oil.” And then came the divine strategy: “Go and sell the oil…”

That wasn’t just advice. That was a business plan downloaded straight from heaven.

She followed the instruction, and what started as a small jar turned into enough to pay her debts and fund her family’s future. This is what business by divine strategy looks like—when God breathes on your little and turns it into overflow.

Business is spiritual!

Too many people think business is for the elite. That you need an MBA, a business model canvas, or a TED Talk to get started. But business at its core is simple: solve a problem, meet a need, and earn a profit.

Jesus Himself used business examples in over 60% of His parables. Joseph built national policy from one God-given insight. Job was known for his generosity, funded by his enterprise. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were not just patriarchs—they were businesspeople. Business is biblical.

What’s in Your Hand?

Maybe you can cook, teach, braid hair, sew, write, build, fix, or organize. Maybe you’ve gone through a painful experience and survived. That pain can become a product. That story can birth a solution for someone else. You don’t need to have it all together to start, you just need to start with what you have.

God is not just looking for employees in church—He’s raising problem-solvers in the marketplace. When you do business God’s way, you’re not just making money—you’re making impact.

You create jobs, provide services, restore dignity, and open doors for others. And the beautiful thing? Heaven backs you when you walk in divine instruction.

If you’re reading this and feeling stuck, pray this: “Lord, open my eyes to opportunities for business. Help me see solutions where others see problems.”

Because the truth is, the oil is already in your house. The strategy is already waiting. And the world is waiting for what God placed in you.
