When Jesus spoke to the crowds, He never did so without using stories or parables. Why? Because stories are powerful.
The human brain is wired for narratives, and they help us process information in ways that logic alone cannot. When you listen to a story, your brain reacts as though you were living that experience yourself. That’s why stories give you deeper understanding, stir up emotions, and inspire you to act.
Our world is literally run by stories; the advertising, education, entertainment, and even religious industries are all powered by storytelling. Technology has only amplified it.
The thing that activates the power of God is faith, and what you see with your inner eyes determines what will show up in your life. If your focus is only on your physical condition, you will be limited. But when your inner eyes see healing, restoration, and possibilities, your outer life will begin to align.
Isaiah 53:4–5 reminds us that Jesus already carried our sicknesses, and Colossians 2:14–16 shows that the cross is the ultimate story of victory. Every time you look at the cross, you see healing, forgiveness, and freedom.
The enemy tries to paint different pictures of guilt, fear, or defeat but anything that contradicts God’s word is a lie. Romans 8:1 makes it clear that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
The prayer of faith, as Jeremiah 33:3 shows, opens your eyes to revelation. And once revelation comes, the situation begins to wither. This is why you must be intentional about the stories you allow into your heart. Long after people forget deep principles, they still remember the stories that shaped them.
So whose story are you believing?
The story of your pain, or the story of the cross? Whatever you may be going through, the provision has already been made in Christ. Look at Jesus, focus on His story, and let your inner eyes see healing, because what you see inside is what you will experience outside.
