There’s something powerful about the word inheritance. It speaks of access, ownership, identity, and legacy.
It means you didn’t earn it through struggle; you received it through a relationship. And this is exactly the invitation God is extending to us.
The Bible tells us in Galatians 4:1–2 that an heir, though entitled, can live like a slave if they are unaware of what belongs to them.
This is where many believers find themselves carrying divine wealth but living in spiritual poverty. Not because they lack inheritance, but because they lack awareness.
Inheritance is the concept that changes everything.
Spiritually, it means that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have been ushered into a new reality, one of access, authority, and identity.
Through Christ, we have inherited a new identity.
You are no longer defined by your past, your mistakes, or even your current circumstances. You are a child of God, a saint, part of a royal family. That status is superior to any title, achievement, or social standing.
We have also inherited authority. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in us.
We have inherited alignment with God’s divine purpose. Your life is not random. Everything is working together for your good because God has already designed your destiny.
And here’s the best part, your inheritance cannot be stolen. It is not subject to economic instability, inflation, or human systems. It is eternal. It starts here on earth and continues forever.
However, this inheritance only transforms your life when you become conscious of it. Awareness is everything. When you know who you are, you stop living beneath your privilege.
Like the father in the story of the prodigal son, He is eagerly waiting to restore you, remind you, and reintroduce you to your inheritance.
This is why we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, it secured everything for us.
You are not trying to earn it. Inheritance is yours. It’s time to level up.
