“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24, NLT).
That single verse holds the whole gospel of healing. Because Christ carried your sin, you don’t have to carry your condition.
Every sin ever committed cuts a person away from God. So when you look at Jesus on the cross, you’re not just watching a historical execution, you are watching an exchange take place.
Christ became the Lamb sacrificed in your place, and your sins were transferred onto His body.
That’s what Isaiah 53:4 describes: He bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Not His own, yours. Consequently, He took the suffering so you could go free.
Here’s the beautiful part: healing flows from that same exchange.
When you fix your eyes on Jesus rather than on your diagnosis, your pain, or your prognosis, the Holy Spirit is released to work in your body.
Anyone who looks to Christ instead of their condition receives healing, because through His resurrection, your health was restored too.
This is why Romans 5:8 and John 15:13 matter so much. God didn’t wait for you to get it together.
He demonstrated His love while you were still in your mess, laying down His life so you could be free, spirit, soul, and body.
Genesis 31:13 reminds us that God is a covenant-keeping God; He remembers what He promised. So this week, don’t just hope for healing, pursue it deliberately:
Find scriptures that speak directly to what you need God to do, find visual reminders that keep those promises in front of you and ask God specifically, and thank Him in advance
The cross wasn’t just about forgiveness. It was a full exchange, your sickness for His health, your sin for His righteousness. You are healed. Now walk like it.
