Investing in the Future: Daystar’s Back-to-School Outreach Touches Lives Across Lagos
Every new school year brings fresh hopes, big dreams, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
As we celebrate the 30th anniversary at Daystar Christian Centre, this season also brings a renewed commitment to one of our longest-standing community impact projects, the Daystar Benevolence Unit Back-to-School Initiative.
For years, this outreach has stood as a practical expression of our vision to raise role models and build a society where every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive academically.
And truly, there’s no better soil to sow into than Nigeria’s public schools, where the need is often greatest and the impact most far-reaching.
Empowering Families, Strengthening Communities
The heart behind this initiative is simple: to ease the financial burden on parents, guardians, and sponsors, and to ensure that every child, male or female, has what they need to engage confidently in school.
For many families, basic school supplies can be a heavy weight. By stepping in to support them, we live out what we call Kingdom Social Responsibility, our way of reflecting Christ’s compassion in very practical ways.
This year’s edition once again reaffirmed our commitment. Across our five centres, Oregun, Lekki, Alimosho, Ikorodu, and Badagry, volunteers came together to distribute essential learning materials, with Oregun leading the way.
What We Gave: Tools for Learning, Seeds for Greatness
Each child received a thoughtful package designed to set them up for success:
- Daystar-branded backpacks
- Exercise books
- Writing materials
- Rulers, Erasers, and other essentials
Simple items, yes, but in the hands of a child, they become tools of possibility, confidence, and hope.
More Than Supplies, A Statement of Love
At the core of the Back-to-School drive is a message we want every child to hear:
“You matter. Your education matters. Your future matters.”
And year after year, the smiles on these young faces remind us that love expressed through action transforms communities more deeply than we may ever fully see.
This outreach is not just charity, it is strategic investment. It is Daystar saying: If we want a better society tomorrow, we must empower the children who will shape it today.
