Dimensions Of Praise. There are two dimensions to why we should praise God, we praise Him for who He is and this is what we call adoration, Psalm 113:1-3NLT. We praise God for His name, what is in a name you might ask? Your name reveals who you are just as God’s name reveals who He is. Yahweh means the self-existent and eternal one, the one who created all things but was not created, the one who created the world with the word of His mouth. Wherever you see ‘Lord’, it is describing the sovereign nature of God. As you see these dimensions of God and start to praise Him differently, things will begin to turn around for you.
Psalm 119:68 NLT describes how God is good by nature. God is a good God by nature, whatever you might be going through that seems bad is not bad because God is bad, it has been designed by God to bring good out of the situation.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV)
Has God been good to you? if He has, you have to show Him thanks through your praises.
We praise God for what He has done. Because we are humans we are clouded by the negative things and we don’t see what God is doing for us. Just going to bed at night and waking up the next day is a cause to give thanks to God. We need a change of attitude when it comes to praising God.
