Grace To Be An Effective Witness. To be an effective witness of Christ, you need grace. In the old testament, God had told us that we are to be His witnesses. Isaiah 44:8 NKJV. Your life is a witness, your family, and your finances are witnesses to the goodness of God and when people see you they will be able to find God as well. We are basically Sign boards describing the goodness of God.
Yahweh says, “You are my witnesses, my chosen servants. I chose you in order that you would know me intimately, believe me always, and fully understand that I am the only God. There was no god before me, and there will be no other god after me. Isaiah 43:10 TPT
Becoming a witness is God’s purpose for your life, God has proposed that you should be a witness to souls. (Jeremiah 1:5). The great commission is not a suggestion, it is an instruction for us to carry out and it demands our total submission and concentration. (John 17:18) God saved you so that he can send you out into the world, he saved you so you can be a witness.
What happens when we witness?
- When we witness about the love of God it makes people experience redemption and salvation from sin. Sin is a nature and the only solution to it is the gospel. It is our purpose to preach the gospel and save people from sin (Romans 3:23)
- It gives people the opportunity to be reconciled to God: Reconciliation to God is possible and people can have a solid relationship with Him. The reason why a lot of people find it difficult to serve God and worship Him is because they are ashamed. When Adam sinned he was ashamed and he hid himself. We are in the ministry of reconciliation not the ministry of condemnation. You have access to God , you need to give people the opportunity to have access to Him too. You are an ambassador for God, you have diplomatic heavenly immunity.
