Our world is in serious need of leadership, so we can have direction to navigate the disruption going on around us right now.

Judges 9:7-15 (NLT). In this scripture, some of the trees recognised that it was more valuable to add value and meet needs, than to occupy positions without value.

A position does not make you a leader. It just gives you the ability to lead and influence.

Love is the most effective way to influence people. Leadership is the ability to influence. Leadership is happening already at all levels.

Love never fails. Even when it’s a bad person that shows you love, it makes it easy for them to influence you. We all have leadership potentials.

Everyone can lead. We each have different leadership qualities already, the ones we don’t have, we can cultivate.

Emotional insecurity makes leaders afraid of unleashing people’s potential.

Leaders that are insecure create big problems. Emotional insecurity causes envy in leadership. Insecure leaders find it difficult to see other people grow bigger professionally, financially, and academically.

When someone else’s success makes you feel like a failure, that’s a problem. That mindset is produced by the scarcity mentality. Insecurity makes it difficult for leaders to trust and obey God fully.

Romans 11:29 (NKJV) When God blesses you with a gift, nobody can revoke it.

Symptoms of insecurity:

  • Excessive comparison with other people.
  • Excessive use of material things to define net worth
  • Extreme sensitivity to criticism and rejection
  • Low self-esteem
  • Negative self-talk
  • Overconfidence – Arrogance

Solutions to Insecurity:

  • Change what you believe about yourself. Review your identity. Cut down on social media.
  • Hangout with positive people
  • Listen to the Word of God: Believe that God loves you extravagantly. Treat yourself with love. Get the best quality of whatever you have per time.
  • Be kind to yourself. Document and celebrate your successes.
  • Start each day with gratitude
  • Exercise your faith muscle. Once in a while, break your own record. Set big goals for yourself. Dare something new, and see God step in on your behalf.
  • Allow God to take through the wilderness. Learn to trust God. At the right time, God will bring you out of the wilderness to the palace.

Those that allow themselves to be paralysed in their minds never attempt big goals in life.

A leader is a broker of talents. Your success should not be appraised only by what you have achieved, but by the achievements of other leaders you have raised.
