Uncertainty to Certainty | Pastor Sam Adeyemi | Daystar Christian Centre

Moving from Uncertainty to Certainty

What is moving from uncertainty to certainty? Many of us have so many questions, after we have received promises from God, but our situation doesn’t change. This was Abraham’s reality as well; God had promised that through his seed, He would bless all the nations of the earth.

(Genesis 15:1-8 NLT)

But Abraham was basically saying, “Lord, you’re saying nice things to me, but nothing is changing. I don’t have a son. Is it my head servant that is going to be my heir?”

How can we be sure of the promises of God? With all the uncertainties in the world right now, with how things are going in the political sector and the world’s economies.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

~ (1 Corinthians 10:13)

There is nothing we see now in the world that has not been seen before, so it’s normal to ask, “How can I be sure?”. The challenge sometimes is that after God has spoken to you, things get worse instead of better and that is what throws us off.

In the parable of the Sower, when Christ explained about the seed that fell by the wayside, He said those are the ones that receive the word of God, and Satan comes immediately to take the word from their hearts.

The moment you receive a promise or a revelation from God, you become a magnet for the devil because you are pregnant with the future. The ultimate seed (Revelation) has been deposited in your spiritual womb, and if it is left there to grow, somewhere along the line, it will pop out and become the reality of your life, and set the devil back.

What has God told you or shown you that is looking uncertain right now?

A few lessons from Abraham’s experience with God

  • Establish your oneness with God: When you and God become one, whatever cannot stop God, cannot stop you anymore.
  • Rest your faith in what God has said to you as a person: Make an effort to move from believing in what other people say about God to where you can say “This is what God told me.” Revelation, when it comes from God, births faith, it is God’s vehicle for conveying His own perspective and power into your life.
  • Obey God even when it doesn’t make sense: This is proof of your faith in God. (Hebrews 11:6)
