The second Sunday sermon in our series on “The Word Works.”
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
~ John 15:5-8 NLT.
Earlier, we discussed how to get revelation. We need to stay where the waters of revelation are flowing.
As life flows from the vine into the branches to produce fruit, Jesus wants us to stay connected to Him – the revelation, to be fruitful.
Trees don’t groan to produce fruits, the fruits come out naturally at the right season.
Same with our much fruit season, this year. We will not struggle to produce results this year. We will produce the best results we have ever produced in life, with little stress.
After receiving revelation, we need to act on it. Our blessings will come when we act, not only when we hear. We need action orientation to provoke our much fruits this year. (James 1:22-25.)
Our fruitfulness is dependent on obedience to and action on God’s words.
We should respond and react to our revelation from God, just like Mary told the waiters at the wedding in Cana to do whatever Jesus tells them to do (John 2:5).
By the time our instructions come, they may likely be confusing, they may not make sense, and they may be contrary to what we think we know.
Revelation is not given for analysis, it is given for compliance, whatever God tells you to do, DO IT!
There are several reasons why people don’t act, and one of them is spiritual warfare.
Once satan knows you have taken delivery of the information that can change your life, he will fight you not to act on it, because he knows the result of acting.
We are sometimes also afraid to act, because of past failures, embarrassment, criticism, and association with people with poor mindset.
To achieve ultimate fruitfulness this year, we cannot allow obstacles to stop us. We have to act as though obstacles don’t exist and act on our revelation.
