Did you miss God? Can you believe it, we’re in August already, God has been incredibly good to us.
Happy New Month!
Growing up, I always loved pictures. Whether they were still-life pictures or just portraits, I was always fascinated by them. And we had lots of pictures hanging in our living room. One such picture was of Jesus teaching His disciples.
I would always imagine what it would be like having Jesus in my day. Perhaps, I’d recognise Him from the pictures I had seen. I even fancied being a replica of John the Beloved.
My imagination was wild, hehe!
However, I found my answer in this Scripture.
Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[a] you were doing it to me!’’ (Matthew 25 : 38 – 40 NLT)
Wow!!!
Can you imagine strolling past Jesus in the market? Would you recognize Him? How would you treat Him?
I love this quote by Charles Spurgeon “A Christain should be a striking likeness of Jesus Christ. If we were what we profess to be and what we should be, we should be pictures of Christ.”
What a beautiful world we would live in if we all become pictures of Christ and recognize others as such.
Well…if you’re wondering how this would be possible. I have good news for you. We are starting a brand new series this month – Doing Good. Join us onsite at our Oregun centre or online anywhere in the world. And it doubles as a communion service too. Don’t miss it.
See you in church!
Blessings!
