You Have An Agenda…Or 7. I actually asked ChatGPT ‘What does it mean to have an agenda?’ I picked out a short part to share below.
‘Having an agenda can give us a clear direction towards achieving a specific objective. It ensures that important matters are addressed in every situation…’
Thank you AI.
In this era where mental health is taking centre stage, it helps if we have an agenda in both tackling it personally and helping others get through their own issues.
We have been discussing ‘Good Health’ all September in church, and last Sunday, Pastor Solomon Kpandei layered another angle on what Pastor Boye Oloyede and our Senior Pastor had already established in the first two weeks. This time, we talked about Mental Health from the pulpit (yay!!!). He didn’t just preach at us, He gave us practical tools to handle it, or as He said ‘bring God into it’
You can catch that sermon here, but I am happy to share 2 of the 7-point agenda he gave us;
1. Listening to clean and inspiring music. 1 Samuel 16:23(MSG) lets us know that spirits follow music so we should be careful what kind of songs we allow pass through and into our minds.
2. Know that others have overcome the same challenge and you too will. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT says
‘The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure”
There’s more when you click the link above and there will be even more when you join us in a few hours (6pm WAT) for our Midweek service.
If you live in Lagos, we are LIVE at our Oregun Centre only and if outside Lagos or cannot make it to Oregun, we are online here.
Let’s leave you with the anchor scripture we have been juicing this month
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NLT)
Shalom!
