Blossoming by Faith 3. In John chapter 9, Christ healed a blind man that had never seen before. Christ gave him an instruction and he went down to the pool of Siloam and washed his eyes and they opened. The big question is ‘When actually did his eyes open’? If Christ had not touched his eyes and given him that inspired instruction, would anything have happened if he went to the pool of Siloam on his own? It is not only what he did at the pool of Siloam that caused his eyes to open, the starting point was what Christ did.
Our own part of this as humans is faith and faith is believing in unseen realities to the point where you base your actions on them. Faith is an identity thing, it’s not just about circumstances, it is redefining how you see yourself and who you think you are (1 John 4:4 NLT). The starting point is your nature that you share with God and your sense of identity. The point at which Christ touched that blind man and spoke to him, spiritually that was the point at which he became a seeing man.
Do you believe you are who God says you are?
In Numbers 13:32-33 & Numbers 14, the 12 leaders forgot who they were, they forgot what God had said about them. This is the school of faith, what God has said is what God has said and you have to build your identity on that. When Jesus was fasting in the wilderness the devil tried to leverage his hunger against Him but he failed.
- Faith makes you see differently: (2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT). Faith determines your interpretation of what is phenomenal. you can’t afford to let your five senses run your life because they can only determine things in the physical.
- Faith makes you run towards giants: It makes you take action in unseemly circumstances. (Hebrew 4:1-2 NKJV)
- Faith prevents you from compromise: (Hebrews 11:27 MSG). Satan will throw problems at you to make you fail. So you have to either be willing to follow the word that God has given you or you will be willing to compromise on the promise of God.
