Building a successful family

Building a successful family. The family is the nucleus and the bedrock of everything man has done on Earth.

Everyone who has ever done something great came from a family. For example, the popular surgeon Ben Carson would not have achieved all the wonderful things he did were it not for his mother.

God wants to see His purpose established on earth through the family, but the devil wants the same as well.

Marriage is God’s idea, if you try to take the foundation and values for building your family from anywhere else but the word of God, it won’t work. If we listen to the word of God, our marriage and families would be successful.

A successful family starts with choosing the right life-partner. If you miss out on choosing the right partner, you might struggle through your marriage.

If you’re going to start a family, you must be willing to surrender to God.

What you call your family is what it becomes. The family as God intends is the coming together of a man and a woman from two nations to create a new nation that will promote the best interest of all; Your family is a nation.

Building a successful family goes beyond just you, you are impacting generations, it is a huge responsibility. When you understand the responsibility, you know it is not something to be taken lightly, it is something to give all your focus.

Tips for a successful family

  • Every family stands on a foundation: What foundation is your family standing on? For us Christians, our foundation is the word of God.

…I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.” (Genesis 18:19 NLT)

Children do what they see their parents do, so you should make the word of God the foundation on which you stand as parents.

  • Are you going in the same direction?

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? (Amos 3:3 NLT)

Do you and your spouse have the same beliefs? Pay attention to your beliefs and align them with the word of God. Your beliefs will shape your marriage and determine the heights to which it will rise.

  • Pay attention to systems that make up your home: If you are going to build a successful family, you must pay attention to systems. Without systems, you can’t build very far. Systems on finance, giving, spiritual beliefs, and communication.
