Don’t Give Up 5. Paul’s experiences confirm to us that influential people also have challenges.
Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again. (2 Corinthians 11:23 NLT)
How many of us have experienced anything near what Paul experienced. There is a tendency to wonder, ‘Why should I have these many challenges as a Christian?’ but it’s because you are a Christian that you attract all these troubles and trials.
Paul went through all those troubles because of what he was carrying. You are carrying something that’s why the devil wants to knock you down, so you can give up and not unleash what God has put in you. There is a proverb in Nigeria that says, ‘The bigger the head, the bigger the headache’. You are more powerful than you think, but most people don’t recognize this, and that’s why they don’t realize that our challenges come because of the weight you are carrying.
We are in the resurrection season now, the resurrection is a miracle. A seed disintegrates into the ground, but after a while, something new will sprout. Those of us that belong to Christ have the resurrection gene in our system, you can’t bury us, we will begin to sprout (Romans 6:3-4 MSG). For us there is always a resurrection, every time Satan thinks that he organized something that will bury us, he has made a mistake, we are coming back. (Galatians 2:20 NKJV).
Once you know that God has not provided to be buried permanently, the one thing He expects from you is faith, stop looking at the things happening around you, keep your focus on God and what He has said.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)
