Marks of a great leader. God will only give you a task based on your ability to manage it. If you pray to God for promotion, He expects you to develop the capacity to handle that promotion. (Matthew 25:14-15 PT). Some people pray for things that they don’t have the capacity for. If you are looking for something big from God, then you must have the capacity to receive it.
One of the significant skills we must develop in our lives is our leadership skills because your destiny is tied to your leadership ability. In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus told his disciples to go and teach all nations, this was a leadership mandate.
According to John. C. Maxwell’s 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership, “You will never be more successful than your leadership ability will allow you” meaning that your success in life is directly proportional to your leadership ability. Leadership is not an exclusive club for only elites, it is not just for a few people, it is the essence of all human beings. Every human being has the instinct and the leadership capacity but the problem is that a lot of us don’t have the courage to cultivate it. Leadership is not about position, it is about disposition. Genuine leaders are those who have a disposition which relates to their sense of purpose, their self-worth and their self-concept.
Marks Of A Great Leader
- Great Leaders have a thirst for knowledge, they seek it out and the want to learn as much as possible. They don’t approach life as know-it-alls. They know that in the journey of leadership, knowledge is the fuel.
- Great leaders are quality minded, they are excellence driven. Anything they touch has a sense of genius in it. They make the best of even simple things.
- Great leaders ask questions.
- Great leaders always seek to qualify for what they’re called to do.
