The Witness 4. Changing a human being from having the nature of sin to having the nature of God is a complex thing and it is the last thing that Satan wants, Satan wants to take every single person to hell. It would take God to get a person to realise their sinful state and to realise their need for salvation. 2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV, Matthew 9:35-38NLT. When you see people from God’s perspective your heart will be broken. When you realize the value of man and you see what Satan has turned mankind into, you will become burdened by mankind’s state and be eager to see it change.
In poverty-stricken countries, with poor infrastructure and high inflation, lack of money is not usually the problem, it is usually greed for money and power on the side of the leaders. When you are one of those who have been deprived of your basic needs and wants, material things become a big deal for you. But Satan is dangerous, not only does he leverage deprivation, he also leverages abundance. So when you have a lot, he begins to shift your trust from God to the things you have acquired, then you become insecure. Whichever way it goes, when you look at man-kind through God’s eyes, your heart will be broken at what Satan has reduced us to.
The interesting thing about overvaluing material things in this world is that the moment we step out of this world (die) to the other world, our perspective changes. (Luke 16:27-31 – The rich man and Lazarus). Man has the tendency to minor on the majors and major on the minors. This physical world that we can relate to with our five senses deceives us to think this is all there is. It is not the job of dead people to witness to people on earth, it is our responsibility. (Romans 10:14-15NLT).
Is it when you leave this world that you will realize that witnessing is one of the most important things you should have done with your time on earth? The first thing to do is to pray, don’t underestimate the power of your prayers in peoples lives.
