Honestly, it was a taste of heaven. Pastor Kayode Olutayo’s message on ‘Know your community’ was a Masterclass on how Daystar was made for us.
One of the highlights of PKO’s message was hearing testimonies of people around the world that have benefited from the Daystar communities. They didn’t just log on to Wednesday and Sunday services, but they also found a small group and immersed themselves there. Those testimonies – from marriages to relocation support, and even the evacuation efforts out of Ukraine when the war started – further reinforced how powerful communities are!
Truly, it is dangerous to be alone in these times. No matter where you are, Daystar has a community for you!
We have yet another testimony to share from Temilola, who through the changing seasons of her life, has been anchored in the Daystar small groups system, and even serving there.
In her own words…
I joined Daystar in August 2018 after praying to God to reveal my church to me, a place I can call my home. I decided to join the Daystar Singles Fellowship choir and the Cell system, and within a few weeks, I got a job as an Assistant Administrator in a school even without applying for that job. I also became an Assistant cell leader in my fellowship. I did the Daystar training system from 100 level to 400 level, and thanks to all I learned there, built my time management skills, my spiritual life, and my profession. I’m grateful for the privilege of being taught by great teachers at Daystar. It is true that when one is truly rooted and planted on the right ground, one will definitely bear good fruits. My life is a reflection of this.
I prayed to God for a better job, and He did it again. Unfortunately, during the pandemic, my salary was slashed, and it wasn’t enough anymore to make ends meet. So, I called on the prayer-answering God again, and He showed up mightily again. He gave me not just a job; He gave me double for my trouble. I got this job on a platter of gold. He has also made me a living testimony.
Thanks to Pastor Sam and Pastor Nike Adeyemi. Thanks to my District Pastor, the cell leadership system, and all for their prayers and support.
Life happens, when it does, like Peter and John, and even Daniel, we hope you have a community to go back to for reinforcement and support!
As soon as they were freed, Peter and John returned to the other believers and told them what the leading priests and elders had said. When they heard the report, all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God – (Acts 4 v 23-24a NLT)
