Praise 2. When we give God praise, we are giving Him real value. Of all the things that we give Him this is something that he enjoys personally. Most of the other things that we give are things that human beings enjoy, if you give an offering it’s for humans not for God. Although in God’s economy what you do to man you have done to Him, Christ said “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbour as yourself”.
Then I will praise God’s name with singing, and I will honour him with thanksgiving. For this will please the Lord more than sacrificing cattle, more than presenting a bull with its horns and hooves. Psalm 69
The Psalmist had enough wisdom to know that even though praise is intangible, it makes more of an impact on God than the cattle you can see
Benefits of praising God
- Praise activates the principle of exchange of value: This principle is what governs the flow of money. When you grow up in the kind of environment that we have, you grow with the idea that money is a mystery because a lot of people don’t know how to get it. Money didn’t always exist, it was created by man, before that we did trade by barter and it worked. In 1 Kings 3, King Solomon offered a thousand cattle as sacrifice to God, he loved the Lord and he gave to show that love. When you understand leverage you wont joke with thanks giving. Many people are stingy in their relationship with God, only focusing on what they can get. David demonstrated the ability to focus on the positive in the midst of chaos (Psalm 103:1-2 NKJV)
