Daystar Christian Centre - Sunday service - The word works

The Word Works (3)

The word works when it’s mixed with faith.

We can have two people hear the word, and one profits from it more than the other. The difference is that one didn’t receive it with faith, while the other did.

The mixing of faith with what you hear is the ingredient that allows the word to come alive.

God’s promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some  might fail to experience it.

For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God

~ Hebrew 4:1-2

There are promises and blessings that God has released, but because it wasn’t mixed with faith, they didn’t get to come alive.

The major problem is the state of the heart called unbelief, which means having the conviction that bad things or nothing will happen.

Sometimes unbelief is caused by what you believe.

Humans always believe in something; that’s the way we are wired. Your unbelief can stop the operation of the power of God.

In Mark 6:1-6, their unbelief formed a resistance to the power of God. Most times, we overlook the message and focus on the messenger.

The transformation process of the word starts with faith, and to enjoy miraculous fruitiness this year, you must stay on the frequency of faith.

Faith is formed by what you see and hear consistently. Fear is the opposite of faith, and both start the same way.

To understand how unbelief affects the word, let us look at the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:14-16):

  • The seed that fell on the footpath:

Be ready to take the road that is different from the footpath. When you follow God, sometimes you might look like a crazy person.

When God gives you instructions, He has factored everything beyond what you can see. To do God’s will is to understand His vision, and direction.

  • The seed on the rocky soil:

The moment situations come, they forget the word. A perfect life is not the proof of faith, even amid problems, you must hold on to the word of God. The ability to withstand trouble is real maturity.

  • The seed that fell among thorns:

The worries about wealth and life can cause the production of the word not to happen.

You must value revelation over money and material things, because when God gives you a word, the enemy attacks the revelation. Meditate on the word, so it can take the root of understanding.
